Organic Amaranth


Amaranth was a dietary staple of the pre-Columbian Aztec empire, who believed it had supernatural powers and incorporated it into their religious ceremonies. Organic Amaranth is a versatile ingredient that can be added to soups, salads, stews, casseroles and even in desserts! Organic Amaranth has a crunchy texture and nutty flavour. It can be eaten as a side dish like pilaf or be the main ingredient in a main meal. To cook Amaranth add 6 cups of water to every one cup of Amaranth. Boil water for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, drain, rinse and enjoy.
